When entering data into the Active Exam template, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
1. Fields Requiring the Enter Key
For the fields listed below, you may either select an option from the dropdown menu or manually type your entry. If you freetype, be sure to press the Enter key after typing to ensure the data is properly saved.
- Family Medical History
- Allergies
- Medications
Important: Failing to press Enter may result in the data not being recorded.
2. Dropdown Fields
When selecting from any dropdown menu, ensure that the green "Changes Saved" message appears in the top-left corner of the screen. This confirms that your selection has been successfully saved.
3. CL Rx — Red-Highlighted Fields
When entering a contact lens prescription, fields may be highlighted red if:
- The field contains a value that is not valid for the selected CL product (e.g., a BC value the product doesn't offer)
- The field is empty but the selected product requires a value for that parameter
Validated fields: BC, Dia, Sph, Cyl, Axis, Add, D/N. Fields not validated: DVA, NVA, Color.
To resolve highlighted fields, update the value to a valid option or clear the field if it is not applicable.
Important Note: If red-highlighted fields exist when you click Mark as Final, a confirmation modal will appear asking you to acknowledge before proceeding. Resolve highlighted fields before finalizing the prescription where possible.
Additional Notes
- If multiple users are accessing the same patient chart simultaneously, you may encounter missing or unsaved data.
