In this article, you will learn how to enable the eFax feature in Barti, including how to acquire a new fax number or port an existing one through Kno2.
1. Submit the eFax Number Request Form
Navigate to Organization Settings > Integrations > E-Fax Office Numbers > Add E-Fax Number.
To acquire a new fax number:
* Fill out all fields, including the preferred area code.
❗ Important Note: The subdomain cannot be changed after submission.
To port an existing fax number:
* Select the checkbox for Transferring an existing fax number to Kno2.
* Fill out all fields.

2. Submit Required Documentation
- Complete the E-Fax Authorization Form PDF and send it to your implementation team at success@barti.com.
- Send your billing statement to success@barti.com.
- Carriers require billing documents to verify fax number ownership. Without correct documentation, your port request may be rejected.
- If your provider does not issue a bill, provide a screenshot of your account portal showing the fax number, or request a Customer Service Record (CSR) from your provider.
- If required by the carrier, provide your port-out PIN. Contact your provider directly to obtain it.
3. Complete Kno2 Account Setup
* After submission, you will receive a Welcome email from Kno2 to create an account and set a password.
❗ Important Note: The links in the Welcome email expire within 24 hours.
- After creating your Kno2 account, log into the Kno2 dashboard to submit an ID for identity proofing.
4. Await Activation
- New fax number: Your number will be acquired within 1 business day of receiving the Account Activation Notification email.
- Porting an existing number: Kno2 will notify the Barti implementation team when the port is scheduled and confirm the date with you.
- The Barti implementation team will notify you once eFax is activated in your account.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to port an existing fax number? Up to 15 business days. Kno2 will send a confirmation email by 5pm MT on the day the port is completed.
Can I have more than one fax number per location? Yes. Submit one request form per fax line.
How many people need to complete identity proofing? One per fax line. The identity proofing email is re-sent once a day for 7 business days (each link expires after 24 hours). If links expire, contact your implementation team to request a resend from Kno2. Network activation occurs 2–3 business days after ID proofing is completed.
What if I didn't receive an email from Kno2? Check your spam or junk folder. If the email address is correct and still no email was received, contact your implementation team so they can notify Kno2 to check the email server.
What is the purpose of the subdomain? The subdomain is used for non-fax messaging functionality within Kno2.
Can I use one fax number across multiple locations? Yes. You can choose which location appears on the letter when creating it. The fax cover letter will display the location tied to the fax number (primary location). You can also send faxes directly from the Kno2 dashboard.
