The Lens Sales Report shows sales data for all lens inventory items at your practice — including Lens Materials, Lens Designs, and Lens Add-Ons. Use it to review quantity sold and revenue by lens product, filtered by date range, location, and lens type.
1. Opening the Lens Sales Report
- Navigate to Billing in the left sidebar.
- Select Reports.
- Click the Lens Sales tab.
The report loads with the current month as the default date range and all locations selected.
2. Filtering the Report
Use the filters at the top of the report to narrow results:
- Date Range — Select a start and end date to filter by charge date.
- Location — Filter by one or more locations at your practice.

Lens Type — Filter by lens category:
- All (default) — shows Lens Materials, Lens Designs, and Lens Add-Ons together.
- Lens Material — shows only lens material products.
- Lens Design — shows only lens design products.
- Lens Add-On — shows only lens add-on products.
After adjusting filters, the table updates automatically.
3. Reading the Report Table
The report table shows one row per lens product, aggregated across all matching charges in the selected date range.

| Subtotal | Revenue before discounts and taxes |

If no results match the selected filters, the table displays an empty state message.
4. Exporting to CSV
To export a detailed, line-item version of the report:
- Apply your desired filters.
- Click Export CSV in the upper-right corner of the report.
- The file downloads automatically.
The CSV export contains one row per invoice line item (not one row per product) and includes full financial and invoice context:
- Invoice Record Number and Link
- Charge Date, Invoice Date, Service Date
- Location
- Product and Type
- Billing Code and Description
- Quantity, Subtotal, Discounts, Taxes, Total
- Adjustments, Patient Responsibility, Insurance Responsibility, Balance
FAQ
What lens types are included? The Lens Sales Report covers three inventory types: Lens Material, Lens Design, and Lens Add-On. These correspond to the lens inventory items you have set up in your practice's inventory.
How is this different from the Glasses Frames and Contact Lens reports? The Lens Sales Report follows the same structure as those reports but covers lens add-on inventory specifically. All three reports are available as tabs in the Billing Reports section.
Why are some products missing from the report? Products only appear if there are charges in the selected date range. Check your date range and location filters if expected items are not showing.
