How do I set up speed dial for internal call transfers on a Yealink desk phone?

Assign a line key on your Yealink desk phone to a phone extension so you can transfer calls with one press. Use the web admin console if you need more than 9 speed dials; otherwise set them up directly on the phone.

Who this is for: Any staff member using a Yealink desk phone registered with Barti VoIP.

Before you start, you'll need:

These steps apply to the Yealink T54W, T74W, and T85W.

Option A — Set up speed dial from the web admin console (recommended)

  1. Use this method if you need more than 9 speed dials, or if you're setting up multiple phones at once.

    1. Log into the phone's web interface by entering its IP address in your browser. (Press OK on the phone to find the IP address.)

    2. Navigate to Dsskey → Line Key.

    3. Find the line key you want to configure and set the following fields:

      • Type: Speed Dial

      • Value: Extension number of the destination phone

      • Label: Name of the destination phone (e.g., "Front Desk")

      • Line: Auto

    4. Click Confirm to save.

Repeat for each line key you want to assign.

Adding more than 9 speed dials:

Each model supports a different number of line keys, and unlocks additional ones differently:

    • T54W — supports up to 27 line keys total (26 available for speed dial, since Line Key 1 is reserved for your phone line). Click the Line Key 10–18 or Line Key 19–27 tab to configure additional keys — no extra setup required.

    • T85W — supports up to 60 line keys total (59 available for speed dial). The additional tabs are grayed out by default. Increase the Number of Pages dropdown at the top of the page (1–5) and click Confirm — the additional tabs will then become clickable.

    • T74W — supports up to 50 line keys total (49 available for speed dial). Like the T85W, the additional tabs are grayed out by default — increase the Number of Pages dropdown at the top of the page (1–5) and click Confirm to unlock them.

The Yealink T54W web admin console Dsskey → Line Key page, showing a table of Line Keys 1–9 with columns for Key, Type, Value, Label, Line, and Extension. Line Key 6 is highlighted with a red rectangle and configured as a speed dial: Type is set to SpeedDial, Value is 11, Label is

Option B — Set up speed dial from the physical phone

  1. Use this method for quick setup of up to 9 speed dials using the buttons on the outside of the phone's display. If you need more than 9, use Option A instead.

    1. Long-press any button on the left or right side of the display for 5 seconds until the configuration screen appears. (Avoid the top-left button — it is reserved for the phone's registered line name.)

    2. Use the arrow keys to find and set Type to SpeedDial.

    3. Leave Account ID set to Auto.

    4. Enter a Label for the destination phone (e.g., "Front Desk", "Exam Room 1", "Back Office").

    5. Enter the phone's extension number in the Value field.

    6. Save the entry.

Repeat for each phone you want to assign to a side button.

What you'll see when it works

The label you assigned (e.g., "Front Desk") appears on the configured button. During an active call, press that button to transfer the call directly to that extension without dialing manually.

Troubleshooting

The speed dial button isn't transferring to the right phone.

Confirm the Value you entered matches the extension number assigned to that phone in Barti (Organization Settings → Communications). If the numbers don't match, repeat the steps above to correct the value.

I don't have enough buttons available.

The buttons on the outside of the display are limited to 9 assignments on all models. If you need more than 9 speed dials, use Option A to access additional line keys through the web admin console — up to 27 total on the T54W, 50 on the T74W, or 60 on the T85W.

Can I add more than 9 speed dials directly on the phone, without using the web console?

Yes — on all three models, go to Menu → Features → Dsskey, scroll to the line key you want to configure (up to 27 on the T54W, 50 on the T74W, or 60 on the T85W), select it, and follow the same steps as Option B (without the long-press). This works, but it's more cumbersome than Option A, so we recommend using the web admin console instead.
